Painted Post, New York
Break bread
the way it should be
Sourdough loaves pulled from the deck at dawn. Seasonal pastries shaped by hand. Pantry staples you can actually read. Welcome to the neighborhood bakery that refuses to cut corners.
Our story
A corner store with
conviction
The Last Stand opened its doors on Victory Highway with a simple premise: serve food you'd feel comfortable offering your table. No shortcuts. No preservatives hiding in the fine print. Just flour, water, salt, time, and the kind of attention most places don't have room for.
We bake in small batches throughout the day so whatever you take home is as close to peak as it gets. Our grocery section stocks regional products — honey from local hives, beans from small roasters, jars and bottles you won't find in the big-box aisles.
This isn't a chain. It's a neighborhood staple, and we intend to stay that way.
What we do
From the deck to the
shelf — everything here
earns its place
Artisan Bread
Sourdough, ciabatta, focaccia, and seasonal ryes — all leavened naturally and baked on a deck oven. Pull-up-and-go or order ahead for something special.
Pastries & Sweets
Butter croissants at 6 a.m. Seasonal fruit tarts. Chocolate croissants that actually contain chocolate. Hand-pieced daily by people who care about the result.
Pantry & Grocers
Local honey, small-batch coffee, pasta from Italian importers, oils, vinegars, and the kind of jars and cans you'd actually want to keep on hand.
Coffee & Drinks
Proper espresso, pour-over, and tea — not the kind you rush through. Paired with something from the case, it's a five-minute break that feels like a real break.
Painted Post, NYWe don't bake to fill shelf space. We bake to fill the kind of need that shows up when the real stuff runs out — the Tuesday morning you need something better than the store-bought loop, the Sunday dinner that deserves a proper loaf, the gift that says you actually thought about it.
